MERISM
Merism LLC  /  North Carolina

Build the tool.
Keep it running.
Consulting when that's the work.

A North Carolina studio. Sites, apps, and the internal tools a small team actually uses — then monthly upkeep so they don't go stale. Process and quality consulting is available when that's the actual problem. It isn't the whole company.

01  The name

Not a slice of the work. The whole shift.

merism (n.) — a figure of speech that pairs two opposites to stand for everything in between. "Morning and evening" doesn't mean two moments. It means every hour of the day.

Here the pair is the floor and the code — how the work actually runs, and the software that runs it. Everything between those two poles is available: the tool, the upkeep, the process, the people.

Most of what walks in is a tool that needs to exist, or one that needs to be kept running. Consulting is on the menu when the problem is process or quality rather than a missing site.

Merism LLC is the studio. Selected work includes RRS, LMCremedies, and QuietStops.

02  Services

Three ways in.

Most work starts as a build. Some of it stays on a monthly retainer. Consulting — process, quality, people — is the third door, used when that's actually the problem.

Build

When something needs to exist — designed, built, shipped, and kept running.

Optimize

When the work already happens — and the question is why it takes this long.

Develop

When the process is sound and the team isn't there yet.

Bring the work.

A build, a monthly retainer, or a process problem. Scoping happens in writing and the price is fixed before anything starts. A written scope — cost, timeline, and what's explicitly out — comes back within two business days.
